Importance and Benefits of TULSI
Tulsi/Basil is an important symbol in the Hindu religious tradition and is worshiped by Hindus. The latin name of Tulsi is OCCIMUM SANCTUM. Tulsi destroys the germs , purifies the air and water and used as a herb to cure diseases like fever,cough etc..
Here are some uses of Tulsi as a medicine:
1) Stones in the kidney:
In case of renal stone the juice of basil leaves and honey, if taken regularly for 6 months it will expel them via the urinary tract.
2) Coughs:
Chewing 1 leaf of tulsi with 5 cloves/loung (light fried) helps to relief from cough,cold and flu.
3) Sore Throat:
Water boiled with basil leaves can be taken as drink in case of sore throat.
4) Minor burns,Rashes, Skin elergy:Apply tulsi juice and coconut oil (to be mix in equal quantity) on the infected area to get rid of skin disorders.
5) Eye Disorders:
Basil juice is an effective remedy for sore eyes and night-blindness, which is generally caused by deficiency of vitamin A. Two drops of black basil juice are put into the eyes daily at bedtime.
