Cabbage-Carrot Curry

Cabbage-Carrot curry is easy to make and delicious to eat. It is rich in nutrients and can form part of the daily menu. This dry curry goes well with rotis / chapatis.

Cabbage-Carrot Curry


2 cups cabbage, chopped
1 carrot, grated
2 tbsps oil
1 tsp mustard seeds
1 tsp cumin seeds
pinch of hing (optional)
1 green chilli, cut into thin strips
few curry leaves
salt to taste
1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp red chilli powder
1 tsp coriander powder
coriander leaves, for garnishing


1: Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds and let them splutter. Add green chillies, turmeric powder, hing, curry leaves and saute for few seconds.

2: Add cabbage, carrot, salt, mix well and let it cook till the vegetables are done.

3: Now add coriander powder, red chilli powder, lemon juice and cook for few more minutes.

4; Garnish with coriander leaves and serve with rotis or chapatis.
